Bob Dylan and His Oeuvre Are Subjects of Stanford Conference
Bob Dylan had this to say about academe in a 1970 song: "Sure was glad to get out of there alive." Judging from the way academe has treated him, the lack of respect was mutual.
For years, Mr. Dylan has been ignored by academics. To them, he was just another singer-songwriter with a loyal following and a less-than-melodious voice. But now he's getting his due.
